Back Foot Angle

Mechanism / Why It Happens

Muscles can produce stronger force under specific conditions. You can take advantage of this in a treflip.

Think about your arm as an example. You can generate more force by bending it further from a slightly bent position than from a fully extended one. The same applies to a treflip. If you naturally stand with your feet turned outward, placing your back foot at around 90 degrees can help. If your feet usually point straight forward, angling your toes slightly more forward can engage the muscles that twist your foot inward. The key point is that it is biomechanically more efficient to turn 10 into 100 than to turn 0 into 100. Keep this in mind and find the angle that works best for you.
