How can I make my skate shoes last longer?
Mechanism / Why It Happens
If you keep a few key points in mind, your skate shoes can last dramatically longer
(1) Holes start to form
The part of skate shoes that usually takes the most damage is the toe area used for ollies and kickflips. To prevent holes from forming there, people often use Shoe Goo. It is also commonly used to stop holes from forming in the sole.
(2) Shoelaces or stitching threads get cut
Depending on how you use your feet, your shoelaces or stitching threads may rub against the grip tape and get cut. Shoe Goo is very sticky, so it is not great for covering very small areas. In those cases, try using super glue. You can apply it to a small area, and it can soak deep into the material. For example, if you apply it to stitching threads, you may not need any additional repair for a while.
