Why Do You Lose Your Balance When Crouching?
Mechanism / Why It Happens
Sometimes, the harder you try, the harder it becomes to jump properly.
Have you ever noticed that, as you keep practicing, you gradually start losing your balance when crouching or find it harder to jump properly? Skateboarding is certainly tiring, but muscle fatigue isn't always the only cause. In fact, the muscles used for jumping are also used when crouching. As you lower your body, gravity causes it to accelerate downward, but under normal conditions, your brain gradually activates the muscles used for jumping to control and reduce this downward acceleration. However, after repeated failures or moments of fear, your brain can become overly excited. You may stop paying attention to crouching slowly and become focused only on crouching and jumping as quickly as possible. As a result, your downward acceleration increases, making your body collapse into a deeper crouch and making it harder to jump properly.
