Safe Roll-in Practice Method
Mechanism / Why It Happens
It is not just about commitment. There is actually a safe way to practice.
Place your board on the coping, then slowly push it forward so the back wheels go over the coping. In a roll-in, you need to lean your body forward, and this is the most important part of the movement. By practicing this way, your body will naturally start leaning forward without you even thinking about it. As you get used to it, gradually increase the speed. Then the time the board stays in contact with the coping becomes shorter, and eventually the back wheels will start hitting the coping. After that, if you lift the front wheels as you go over the coping, you will be able to do a real roll-in.
