Getting hung up in Roll-in

Mechanism / Why It Happens

Hanging up happens due to how your body axis tilts and the structure of the skateboard

As a basic premise, your weight needs to be leaning forward during a roll-in. If your body leans forward while standing on flat ground, your front foot supports your weight, so you will not lose balance. However, in a roll-in, the moment the front wheels come off the coping, your body loses that support and falls forward together with the board. As a result, only the back wheels get stuck on the coping.

What to Do

Lift the nose as you go over the coping

As you approach the coping, lift the nose and keep it raised until the back wheels go over the copin
