How to Bail Safely on a Ramp
Mechanism / Why It Happens
The place you normally want to stand on the most instantly becomes the place you most want to avoid when you bail.
When you bail on a ramp trick, the last place you want to put your feet is on the board. Besides the obvious risk of twisting an ankle, stepping onto the board and getting thrown backward is a worst-case scenario. To avoid this, keep your eyes on your feet until the very last moment before they touch down, making sure you are not about to land on the board or roll an ankle. It is also helpful to keep your feet as close to the ramp surface as possible after the first step. The board may bump into your ankle, but preventing yourself from stepping onto the board is far more important.
