Foot Placement & Weight Distribution
Mechanism / Why It Happens
Most of your weight is concentrated on your toes. It is important to keep your body axis from leaning and your back from rounding as you rise onto your toes.
The toes of your front foot should not point completely sideways, but slightly forward at an angle. Partly because of this position, much of your weight will be placed on your toes. Due to the structure of the human body, loading the toes tends to make your body axis lean and your back round. By keeping your body axis upright and firmly bracing with your front foot, you can stall in a stable position.
