Why does my board turn?

Biggest Cause is The Weight Distribution

Mechanism / Why It Happens

In most cases, the board turns because your hips shift backward. It’s important to understand why weight shift causes rotation.

Your shoulders may be aligned with the board, and the direction of your front foot slide may match your direction of travel. But if the board is still rotating, you should check your weight position. You might hesitate to commit to the board and land toward your heels, or try to lift the board without raising your body enough, which pushes your hips toward the heel side. As a result, your front foot moves under your center of mass while shifting the nose, causing the board to rotate.

What to Do

Move your weight straight up and straight down.

Try observing your movement from the side and check whether your center of mass is moving vertically
