In most cases, foot placement does not cause the board to rotate.

If you believe your back foot must be placed exactly at the center of the tail, think about this: can anyone truly define where the exact center of the tail is, or precisely where their foot is applying force? As long as your back foot is popping near the center of the tail’s tip, that is sufficient. You also do not need to worry too much about the angle of your front foot. It may seem that having your front foot angled outward would cause the board to rotate, but in general, the force of the nose pushing back against your front foot is much greater than the force your ankle can apply to control the board. As a result, simply changing the angle of your front foot rarely causes the board to rotate.
