Driving the wheels into the coping is important, but that alone will not make the board bounce high.
Only the wheels touch the ramp, and they bounce back from the impact when they hit the coping. Even though the coping sticks out by only a few centimeters, the board can bounce this high because your body already has upward momentum from riding up the ramp. At this point, if you keep your body weight low without raising your center of mass, both feet get in the way and prevent the board from rising.

What to Do
Use the motion of pulling your body back into the ramp to drive the wheels into the coping, and the board will naturally gain more height.
