Depending on timing, your front foot force conflicts with the board’s force
As explained, a heelflip rotates when you flick your front foot diagonally downward. However, right after popping the tail, the nose carries a strong upward force. Trying to push the nose downward with your front foot at that moment is essentially making your front foot fight against the very force you generated through your whole body when popping the tail. Even if your front foot doesn’t lose, the two strong opposing forces cancel each other out, and the unresolved force ends up pushing the board forward.
