Getting Started Stance

Where should I place my feet?

Mechanism / Why It Happens

The basic stance is to put your front foot over the bolts and your back foot on the tail.

In skateboarding, whether you are turning or doing tic-tacs, in many cases it is best to place your front foot diagonally over the bolts and your back foot in a stable spot near the center of the tail. However, you do not need to be overly strict about the exact position. During pushing, which is explained in another Tip (Link), your front toes point more forward, and when you try tricks like the ollie, you will also need to adjust your foot position.
