Can't Slide

Overrotating The Board

Mechanism / Why It Happens

Even if the wheels make slight contact with the ledge, the board can still keep sliding.

When you hear that you're overrotating the board, you might assume that the wheels are hitting the ledge, getting caught, and causing the slide to stop. However, depending on your setup, it's often the baseplate of the truck that actually makes contact with the ledge, while the wheels may not press against it very strongly. Even when the wheels make light contact, the board can often continue sliding. This means you don't need to worry too much simply because your board rotates beyond 90 degrees during the slide. There is actually another reason why overrotating the board can cause the slide to stop.

What to Do

The slide stops because overrotating the board causes you to place it closer to yourself than where
