People spend years developing skills, refining movements, and learning through trial and error. But much of that experience remains inside the individual and eventually disappears.
Whythetrick aims to systematically preserve human experience so that other people can study it, build upon it, and move forward faster.
There is only so much one person or one project can record. That's why we're making a simplified version of our 3D character available to everyone.

Start Creating in Blender
The model is provided as a Blender file with a rig already attached. Open it in Blender, pose the character, and create your own movement.

Move the rig, create poses, add keyframes, and build your own animations from scratch.

Is the model free?
Yes. The model can be downloaded and used free of charge, including for commercial projects, subject to the license.
Can I modify the model?
Yes. You may modify the geometry, materials, textures, rig, colors, clothing, and other elements of the model.
Can I redistribute the model?
No. Redistribution or sale of the original model or modified versions of the model is prohibited.
Can I distribute animations I create?
Yes. Animation data you independently create may be distributed or sold, provided that the Whythetrick model itself is not included in a reusable form.
Do I need Blender?
The model is distributed as a .blend file and is intended for use with Blender.
